The Impact of Minor Injuries
May 2017
A 2017 study in BMC Research Notes looked into the impact of "minor" or "moderate" injuries from car collisions. At twenty-four months after the collision, the injured still showed a substantial difference in pain ratings, physical and mental well being, and difficulty returning to work. Even two years after the collision, individuals who participated in the study had an average of 4.5 out of 10 on the pain scale. The study also revealed the difficulty an injured person has in dealing with the insurance companies. A person who had to deal with the insurance companies was more likely to exhibit an anxious/depressed mood.
At Herrick & Hart, we see the long term impact caused by collisions. Even what many term as minor impacts, can have major impacts on a person's life. For over 65 years, we have stood for the injured and worked to achieve just compensation. We offer a free consultation on personal injury cases and offer home visits if you are unable to come to our office.
